WHAT IS PPF?

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a revolutionary automotive wrap installed on your car’s body to protect its original paint from deep scratches, stone chips, and contaminants. Its TPU construction (thermoplastic urethane) gives it exceptional durability and longevity compared to a traditional PVC vinyl wrap.

The benefits of PPF rely in its unique composition - including a hydrophobic self-healing topcoat (available in gloss, satin or matte), an anti-UV layer to prevent sun damage to your paint’s clear coat, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer to ensure it bonds to your paint for the life of the film. Our Fusion Colour-Change PPF includes an additional colour layer to provide everything from deep gloss to a silky smooth matte finish, or even deep metallic flake to completely change your vehicle’s look.

Backed by our 10-year manufacturer limited warranty, and installed by our skilled and certified team, our PPF products are designed to withstand whatever life throws at them. Additionally, our PPF is cut in-house on our industrial cutting plotter to ensure a perfect fit for your car.

FAQ

  • PPF (such as our Fusion Reflex and BushWrapz® products) is made of TPU polymer whereas traditional vinyl wrap is made of PVC plastic. Whereas vinyl does provide a layer of UV protection, it is nowhere as durable as PPF, nor does it have PPF’s unique self-healing properties. As such, PPF provides a much more comprehensive layer of protection for your paint.

  • As long as your paint’s factory clear coat is undamaged, PPF products will not damage your paint. The unique adhesive solution is designed to provide a strong bond to your clear coat while remaining easy to uninstall. Your paint will be in the same condition as the day the PPF was applied.

  • When applied correctly, PPF can protect your paint from the following elements: 

    • UV rays 

    • Dirt & road debris  

    • Chemical stains and corrosion 

    • Acid rain  

    • Minor scratches  

    • Water spots 


    In addition, its self-healing capabilities mean that minor scratches do no damage to your PPF itself, with a simple application of heat (hairdryer, boiling water, hot sunny day) pulling scratches out of the PPF surface.

  • While our PPF is already UV resistant, self healing, and hydrophobic, a ceramic coating can take your protection and shine to the next level. That’s why we offer WAX IS DEAD®’s WRAP-PPF coating as an additional layer to maximise the lifespan and finish of your PPF.

  • Absolutely - keeping your PPF clean and free from contaminants ensures the longevity of the wrap.

  • If properly cared for, PPF can last for many years - which is why we back our Fusion Reflex and BushWrapz® PPF products with a 10 year warranty. However, this lifespan is dependent on the quality of the application - which is why only approved installation centres such as Fusion Detailing are able to ensure the lifespan of our PPF products.
